15 DAYS CLOSURE OF TAYRONA NATIONALPARK

We would like to remind you that Colombia's Tayrona National Park will be temporarily closed since Thursday, June 1^st, to June 15^th, as part of the #RespiraTayrona campaign (Breathe Tayrona), prohibiting visitors from entering and providing ecotourism services.

The time-out is a conservation strategy agreed upon with the indigenous communities Kogui, Wiwa, Arhuaco and Kankuamo, living in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, that aims to provide a respite for biodiversity in the area to allow the regeneration of the natural processes of the beaches, ecosystems and species that live there, and to allow the indigenous people to perform their ceremonies of purification, healing and ecological and spiritual conservation.

During the 15 days that Tayrona will be closed to the public, Parques Nacionales Naturales invites everyone who has visited the park before to participate in this time of tranquility of the protected area with their photos through their social networks using the hashtag #RespiraTayrona, in recognition of the care of this Colombian natural and cultural heritage.

Wir möchten euch gerne daran erinnern, dass der kolumbianische Nationalpark Tayrona seit Donnerstag, 01. Juni, bis zum 15. Juni im Rahmen der Kampagne #RespiraTayrona (Atme Tayrona) vorübergehend geschlossen ist und Besuchern der Zutritt und die Erbringung ökotouristischer Dienstleistungen untersagt ist.

Die Auszeit ist eine mit den indigenen Völkern der Kogui, Wiwa, Arhuaco und Kankuamo, die zur Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta gehören, vereinbarte Erhaltungsstrategie, die darauf abzielt, der biologischen Vielfalt in diesem Gebiet eine Atempause zu verschaffen, um die Regeneration der natürlichen Prozesse der Strände, der Ökosysteme und der dort lebenden Arten zu ermöglichen und den einheimischen Völkern die Möglichkeit zu geben, ihre Zeremonien der Reinigung, der Heilung und der ökologischen und spirituellen Erhaltung durchzuführen.

Während der 15 Tage, an denen Tayrona für die Öffentlichkeit geschlossen sein wird, lädt Parques Nacionales Naturales alle, die den Park schon einmal besucht haben, dazu ein, über ihre sozialen Netzwerke und mit dem Hashtag #RespiraTayrona an dieser Zeit der Ruhe des Schutzgebiets mit ihren Fotos teilzunehmen und so die Pflege des natürlichen und kulturellen Erbes der Kolumbianer zu würdigen.

NATIONALPARK TAYRONA - IMPORTANT INFOS ABOUT ACCOMMODATIONS

Tayrona National Park is a popular destination for our clients and we are frequently asked about the accommodations inside the park. These are very limited and each accommodation has its own characteristics that are important for your clients to know from the beginning, to avoid creating false expectations. Below you will find a brief summary of the three accommodations located inside the park to give you a detailed overview and help explain them better to your clients:

- Ecohotel Yachay

- Cabañas Arrecifes

- Ecohabs Cañaveral

Yachay

The hotel is just a few minutes by car from the Zaino entrance of the National Park.
The accommodation is comfortable but not luxurious and is located in the middle of the jungle.
Attention: Yachay is not directly on the beach! To get to the sea, clients must first get to the Cañaveral parking lot, which is either a 30-40 minute walk, or a 10-15 minute ride on the park's bus. From there it is only a walk to the beach.

Cabañas Arrecifes

The cabines in Arrecifes are all called Deluxe, they are very comfortable but not luxurious accommodations. 
There are a total of 5 cabines located in a clearing in the forest with no view of the sea. To get to the sea, you have to walk about 5 minutes.
Each cabine can accommodate up to 5 people in two separate rooms. There is no air conditioning, only fan, and the electricity is intermittent.
To get to the cabines, clients are driven in a car to the Cañaveral parking lot inside the park. From here the clients have to walk about 40 to 50 minutes to reach the accommodation. Luggage must be carried by the clients themselves or can be transported on a horse for an additional fee.
Getting there is only possible during the day - latest arrival at the parking lot 4 pm - because the footpath to the accommodation is not illuminated.

Ecohabs Cañaveral

There are two categories here: Deluxe and Superior, and the difference is the size. The superior cabines are smaller and can accommodate 2 people. There are only two of these cabines.
There are a total of 14 Ecohabs in Cañaveral, and it takes a maximum of 5 minutes to walk there from the Cañaveral parking lot. All of them have at least partial sea view. The cabines do not have air conditioning, only fan.
Please note that some Ecohabs are only accessible by stairs, so they are not suited for people with limited mobility.

UNTERHALTSAMER SPANISCHKURS ALS TEIL DER KOLUMBIENREISE

Wie wäre es denn, Spanisch zu lernen oder die eigenen Kenntnisse zu verbessern und dabei noch eine außergewöhnliche Zeit in z.B. Bogotá oder auch anderen Orten in Kolumbien zu verbringen?

Unsere Praktikantin Beke hat vor ihrem jetzigen Praktikum bei Neptuno an einem Spanischkurs unserer Partner-Sprachschule in Bogotá teilgenommen, um euch aus erster Hand zu berichten, wie diese Erfahrung speziell für eure Kunden aussehen könnte:

Die Sprachschule liegt im schönen und belebten Stadtteil Chapinero und ist umgeben von vielen charmanten Restaurants und Cafés.

Die Teilnahme an deinem Sprachkurs für einige Tage oder auch einige Wochen eignet sich als toller Startpunkt für unsere unvergesslichen Reisen durch Kolumbien, denn die Kunden können auf diese Weise nicht nur während des Kurses, sondern auch in der darauffolgenden Rundreise noch tiefer in die kolumbianische Kultur eintauchen.

Die Kurse finden jeweils halbtags in kleinen Gruppen statt, so bleibt am Nachmittag genügend Zeit, sich von der Anreise zu erholen und schon erste Erkundungen in der Stadt zu unternehmen, was die Vorfreude auf die kommende Reise durch Kolumbien noch weiter steigert!

Um auch nach dem Unterricht, die Spanischkenntnisse weiter zu vertiefen, werden von der Sprachschule optional jeden Nachmittag verschiedene Aktivitäten und Ausflüge, wie ein Ausflug auf den Monserrate, ein Besuch im Botanischen Garten oder einem Fußballspiel angeboten. Zudem werden jeden Mittwoch ein Kochkurs und ein Tanzkurs in der Sprachschule kostenlos für alle Schüler angeboten.

Abschließend bleibt noch zu sagen, dass mir die Zeit in der Sprachschule wirklich sehr gut gefallen hat und ich dadurch einen tollen Start für meine Zeit in Bogotá/Kolumbien hatte. Auch für eure Kunden ist ein solcher Sprachkurs ein tolles Add-On für jede Reise durch das schöne Kolumbien.

FUN SPANISH CLASSES AS PART OF THE TRIP TO COLOMBIA

How about learning Spanish or improving your Spanish skills while having an extraordinary time in e.g. Bogotá or other places in Colombia?

Before her current internship at Neptuno, our intern Beke took part in a Spanish course at our partner language school in Bogotá to give you a first-hand report of what this experience could be like for your clients:

The language school is located in the beautiful and lively Chapinero district and is surrounded by many charming restaurants and cafes.
Participating in a language course for a few days or even a few weeks is a great starting point to our unforgettable trips through Colombia, as it allows clients to immerse themselves even deeper into the Colombian culture not only during the course, but also during the subsequent round trip.
The courses take place in small groups for half a day, so there is enough time in the afternoon to recover from the journey and to start exploring the city, which increases the excitement for the upcoming trip through Colombia even more!
In order to deepen your knowledge of Spanish after class, the language school offers optional activities and excursions every afternoon, such as a trip to Monserrate, a visit to the botanical garden or a soccer game. Also, every Wednesday there is a cooking class and a dance class at the language school free of charge for all students.

Last but not least I would like to say that I really enjoyed my time at the language school and it allowed me a great start for my time in Bogotá/Colombia. For your clients, too, this type of language course is a great add-on to any trip through beautiful Colombia.

TAYRONA NATIONALPARK - WICHTIG INFOS ZU DEN UNTERKÜNFTEN

Der Nationalpark ist und bleibt ein beliebtes Ziel unserer Kunden und immer wieder erreichen uns Fragen bezpüglich der Unterkünfte im Park. Diese sind begrenzt und jede Unterkunft hat seine Besonderheiten, die wichtig sind für eure Kunden, um von Anfang an falsche Erwartungen vorzubeugen. Im Folgenden findet ihr eine kurze Zusammenfassung der drei Unterkünfte, die innerhalb des Parkes gelegen sind, um euch einen detaillierten Überblick zu verschaffen und euren Kunden diese genauer beschreiben zu können:

- Ecohotel Yachay

- Cabañas Arrecifes

- Ecohabs Cañaveral

Ecohotel Yachay

Zum Hotel sind es vom Eingang Zaino des Nationalparks nur ein paar Minuten im Auto.

Die Unterkunft ist komfortabel, aber nicht luxuriös und liegt mitten im Dschungel.
Achtung: Yachay liegt nicht direkt am Strand! Um zum Meer zu gelangen, müssen die Kunden zunächst zum Parkplatz der Ecohabs gelangen, d.h. entweder 30-40 Minuten Fußmarsch,  oder 10-15 Minuten im Bus des Parkes. Von dort aus geht es nur zu Fuß weiter an die Strände.

Cabañas Arrecifes

Die Cabañas in Arrecifes nennen sich alle Deluxe, sind zwar komfortabel aber keine luxuriösen Unterkünfte. 

Es gibt insgesamt 5 Cabañas, die auf einer Lichtung im Wald liegen und keinen Blick auf das Meer bieten. Um zum Meer zu gelangen, muss man etwa 5 Minuten laufen.

Die Cabañas bieten Platz für bis zu 5 Personen in zwei getrennten Räumen. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage, nur Ventilator und der Strom ist schwankend.

Um zu den Cabañas zu gelangen, werden die Kunden im Auto zum Cañaveral-Parkplatz innerhalb des Parkes gefahren fahren. Von hier aus geht es nur zu Fuss weiter, etwa 40 bis 50 Minuten Fußmarsch zur Unterkunft. Das Gepäck muss selbst getragen oder gegen Aufpreis auf einem Pferd transportiert werden.

Die Anreise ist ausschließlich tagsüber möglich - späteste Ankunft im Park 16 Uhr - da der Fußweg zur Unterkunft nicht beleuchtet ist.

Ecohabs Cañaveral

Hier gibt es zwei Kategorien: Deluxe und Superior, wobei der Unterschied in der Größe besteht. Die Superior-Kabinen sind kleiner und bieten Platz für 2 Personen. Es gibt lediglich zwei dieser Cabañas.

Insgesamt gibt es 14 Ecohabs in Cañaveral, und vom Parkplatz Cañaveral aus sind es etwa 5 Minuten zu Fuß. Alle haben zumindest teilweise Meerblick. Die Cabañas haben keine Klimaanlage, sondern nur Ventilator.

Bitte beachtet, dass einige Ecohabs nur über eine Treppe zu erreichen sind, so dass sie für Menschen mit Mobilitätsproblemen nicht geeignet sind.

HOTEL COCO IN BOGOTA - THE CALM IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS
