New Product: The “Cementerio Central” in Bogota – History and Myth

Once again we have been on a tour in the city center of Bogota to discover new and special products for you. We proudly present a new tour to the central cementry of Bogota.

In the year 1836 the cementry of Bogota was established in the outskirts of Bogota. The half day tour to the Central Cemetery is essential if you want a deep understanding of the country and the Colombian culture. It  is a place of history and religion, a place of magic, miracles and faith. 

Here lie the remains of many important figures from Colombian history: Presidents and revolutionaries, generals and guerilla-leaders, presidential candidates who were killed by Pablo Escobar, poets and scientists. It is surprising to see the cultural blendin: Historic facts mix up with myths, catholic faith, superstition and witchcraft. One of the “must dos” is the visit of the tomb of Leo Kopp, a jewish-german businessman who emigrated from Germany to Colombia to found Bavaria – nowadays the biggest brewery in Colombia. 

Every day many people come to visit his golden statue to whisper their wishes into his left ear. Leo Kopp is known and respected for his financial success and care for his employees. Make your wish come true …

Neues Produkt: Der Zentralfriedhof von Bogota – Mythen und Geschichten

Wir waren einmal mehr in Bogota unterwegs, um uns auf die Suche nach neuen spannenden Produkten zu machen. Wir sind fündig geworden! Los gehts zum Zentralfriedhof von Bogota. Im Jahr 1836 wurde der zentrale Friedhof Bogotas vor die Tore der Altstadt verlagert. 

Der Zentralfriedhof ist die letze Ruhestätte von einer Vielzahl von Präsidenten und Revolutionären, Generälen und Guerrillaführern, Dichtern, Denkern und Wissenschaftlern.  Während der 2-stündigen Tour über den Zentralfriedhof verschwimmen die historischen Fakten mit den Mythen aus heutigen Tagen, verschwimmt der katholische Glaube mit Aberglaube und Hexerei. Während des Besuchs des Friedhofs durchlaufen sie dabei unterschiedlichste historische Etappen und erfahren viel über das soziale Leben von damals und heute. 

Der Besuch der letzten Ruhestätte von Leo Kopp darf auf keinen Fall fehlen. Sie gilt als die meistbesuchteste Grabstätte des gesamten Friedhofs. 

Der Jüdisch-deutsche Geschäftsmann gründete im 19. Jahrhundert die erste Brauerei in Kolumbien und gilt als Vorbild für die hervorragende Behandlung seiner Angestellten. Täglich wird seine goldene Statue von sehr vielen Personen besucht. Man flüstert ihm in sein linkes Ohr all seine Wünsche und hofft darauf, dass ein bisschen des Glücks von Leo Kopp auf einen selbst abfärbt. Das muss ausprobiert werden!!! Airline news: Turkish Airlines´s and Air Europa´s new routes to Bogota

Since May 4th 2016 Turkish Airlines officially has started another European flight option to Colombia.  Istanbul – Bogota – Panama  – Istanbul flights are planned as 3 flights per week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays in both directions. 

In addition to Turkish Airlines the Spanish carrier Air Europa will start their daily flights on June 27th 2016 from Madrid to Bogota in the modern Dreamliner. The Turkish and Spanish carriers are adding even more connectivity from Europe to the Southamerica. 

Airline-Neuigkeiten: Neue Flugrouten von Turkish Airlines und Air Europa nach Bogota

Am 4. Mai 2016 hat die türkische Airline Turkish Airlines offiziell ihre neue Flugroute nach Kolumbien und Panama eingeweiht. Die Flüge Istanbul – Bogota – Panama  – Istanbul starten nun drei mal wöchentlich, mittwochs, freitags und sonntags. 

Ab 27. Juni 2016 bietet  ausserdem die spanische Airline Air Europa tägliche Flüge von Madrid nach Bogota im Dreamliner an. Somit verbessert sich zusätzlich die Konnektivität und Anbindung nach Bogota sehr stark.  

Caño Cristales, La Macarena

It is finally time to share and comment about Caño Cristales. The National Park „Sierra de la Macarena“ offers a unique natural spectacle. From June to November the river is variously colored yellow, green, blue, black, and especially red, the last caused by the plant Macarenia clavigera on the bottom of the river. Hiking along the river one discovers the beautiful river, cascades and its natural pool, where it is possible to take a bath.

To get to know Caño Cristales we recommend staying 2 or 3 nights in the small town of La Macarena, located in the department Meta, from here the excursions to Caño Cristales river are organized.

1.DAY: BOGOTÁ - LA MACARENA

Transfer to airport in Bogotá and direct flight to La Macarena, landing on a grass runway. We spend the night in a simple but clean hotel of the small town, lunch and dinner are included. In the afternoon first visit to the river.

2.DAY: LA MACARENA

After breakfast, journey by boat on the Guayabero river, time for bird-watching and wild life of the “Serranía”. Trek all day by Salto del Aguila sector, typical lunch at the river, return to hotel in La Macarena and dinner. Caño Cristales is a place of indescribable beauty, with cascades and lakes of crystal-clear waters and colorful river bottoms. Hike through the region, enjoy time to take photos, swim and relax.

3.DAY: LA MACARENA

After breakfast, journey by boat on the Guatabero river, time for bird-watching and wild life of the “Serranía”. Trek all day by Caño Piedra sector, local seat lunch, return to the hotel in La Macarena and dinner

4.DAY: LA MACARENA - BOGOTA

After breakfast, Visit to Caño Cristalitos and lunch, then we transfer to the runway and fly back to Bogotá. Transfer to the hotel in Bogotá or to the airport.

Flights from/to Bogotá are available with the national airline Satena on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, as well as with a Charter Airline Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Please ask us for offers to Caño Cristales Stream between July and November.

Caño Cristales

Wir finden es ist höchste Zeit hier mal über Caño Cristales zu berichten. Ob es nun wirklich der, wie viele meinen, schönste Fluss der Welt ist, sei dahingestellt. Sicher ist aber, dass der Nationalpark “Sierra de la Macarena” ein einzigartiges Naturschauspiel bietet: Zwischen Juli und November schimmert der Fluss in verschiedenen Farben (von hellrot bis grün), weil zu dieser Jahreszeit die Wasserpflanze Macarenia Clavijera besonders gut wächst.  Bei einer Wanderung entlang des Flusses lassen sich der Flusslauf, die Wasserfälle und die Becken bestaunen, an einigen Plätzen kann nach belieben gebadet werden.

Um den Fluss in Regenbogenfarben zu besichtigen empfehlen wir 2 oder 3 Nächte in La Macarena einzuplanen. Dieses kleine Städtchen im Departamento Meta gelegen, ist der Ausgangspunkt für die Exkursionen zum Caño Cristales, der sich von hier aus in ca. 20 Min. mit dem Boot und einer anschlieβenden ca. 2-stündigen Wanderung erreichen lässt. 

Ein ideales 4Tages/3Nächte Packet ab/bis Bogotá sieht so aus:

1. TAG: BOGOTÁ - LA MACARENA

Frühmorgens Abholung im Hotel in Bogotá und Fahrt zum Flughafen. Ca. 1-stündiger Flug mit einer kleinen Chartermaschine zum Ort La Macarena, wo wir auf einer Naturpiste landen. Bezug des einfachen Dorfhotels und am Nachmittag erste Besichtigung von Caño Cristales. 

2. TAG: LA MACARENA

Nach dem Frühstück, Bootsfahrt auf dem Guayaberofluss bis zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung entlang des Flusses. Ganztägige Wanderung zum Salto de Aguila, Zeit um Fotos zu schieβen, zu schwimmen oder zu relaxen.  Am Nachmittag Transfer zurück zum Dorf. 

3. TAG: LA MACARENA

Nach dem Frühstück wiederum Ausflug auf dem Guayaberofluss und Wanderung in die Gegend von Caño Piedra.

4. TAG: LA MACARENA

Am Morgen Besichtigung von weiteren tollen Plätzen innerhalb des Nationalparks. Am Nachmittag Rückflug nach Bogotá und Transfer zum Hotel oder zum Flughafen. 

Die Flüge ab/bis Bogotá gehen mit der Fluggesellschaft Satena Montags, Donnerstags und Samstags, auβerdem gibt es regelmäβige Charterflüge Mittwochs, Freitags und Sonntags.
