Neues von den Friedensverhandlungen in Havanna

Erfreuliches gibt es aus Havanna zu berichten: Am Mittwoch den 24. August wurden die letzten Punkte für das Friedensabkommen zwischen der kolumbianischen Regierung und der FARC-EP besiegelt.

In den Verhandlungen, die seit 2012 in der kubanischen Hauptstadt stattfinden, einigten sich beide Seiten auf eine Landreform, auf die künftige politische Teilhabe der Rebellen, auf neue Ansätze im Kampf gegen den Drogenanbau, auf die Entschädigung der Opfer und die Entwaffnung, sowie die Überwachung der Umsetzung des Abkommens. Außerdem vereinbarten beide Seiten eine spezielle Gerichtsbarkeit zur Aufarbeitung der Verbrechen im Konflikt.

Das knapp 300 Seiten umfassende Dokument des Friedensabkommens steht jetzt der Bevölkerung zur Verfügung, die am 02. Oktober in einer Volksabstimmung darüber entscheiden soll, ob das Abkommen angenommen wird.

Seit Montag, den 29. August gilt ein unbefristeter, offizieller beidseitiger Waffenstillstand.

News from the Peace Agreement in Colombia

Good news from Havanna: On Wednesday, the 24th of August, agreements on the last remaining topics of the Peace Agreement Agenda were achieved.

As you know since the end of the year 2012 the Colombian government and the FARC are negotiating for peace. Since then, they have reached an agreement on the following most important topics: rural development, rebel participation in politics and policies for combating drug trafficking, transitional justice measures related to the conflict as well as reparation for victims and the supervision and realization of the topics of the agreement.

The document about the peace agreement covers almost 300 pages and is now available for all Colombians, who the 02nd of October will vote in a plebiscite whether the agreement should be accepted or not.

Further to this, since monday 29th of August, a bilateral permanent cease-fire deal between the Colombian Government and the FARC-EP is confirmed.

Statistics – touristic development in Colombia

Today we want to present you some coldhard facts about the development of the tourism industry in Colombia. Since a few years we can see a small boom of the international tourism in this country. Sure, you cannot compare the data with big touristic destinations like Peru or Cuba, which receive much more tourists, but the tourism in Colombia is getting more and more important for the economic situation of the country every year. The numbers of foreign visitors of Colombia have been increasing every year over the past decade.

Here we go with some of the most important facts:

- Colombia counted in the year 2015 a total of 4.45 Million international arrivals. About 2.29 Million of them  were foreign visitors to Colombia (visitors who are not residents)
- In comparison to the year 2015, Colombia received in 2014 a total of 4.19 Million arrivals 1.97 Million people were foreign visitors who are not residents in Colombia
- Growth rate (comparing 2014 and 2015) of arrivals from foreign visitors who are not residents in Colombia: 16%.

The following numbers refer to the 2.29 Million arrivals of foreign visitors in 2015 who are not residents in Colombia:

- Most arrivals in 2015 listed by countries: USA (1), Venezuela (2), Brazil (3), Argentina (4) and Ecuador (5). Followed by: Mexico (5), Peru (6), Chile (7), Spain (8), Panama (9), Germany (10), Canada (11), France (12), Great Britain (13), The Netherlands (14), Italy (15), Costa Rica (16), El Salvador (17), Guatemala (18) und Swiss (19). 

- From the Americas 79,5% of the arrivals were counted (1.8 of 2.29 Million)

- From Europe 18% (400.000 of 2.29 Million)
- The small remainder are arrivals from Asia (1,8%), Oceania (0,7%), Africa (0,2%) and the Middle East (0,1%).

We took this data from ProColombia's "Informe Tourismo extranjero en Colombia". There is no official data about arrivals from tourists who booked an organized roundtrip through Colombia. We estimate this number to be a rather small part of the 2.29 Million. The bigger part are likely to be backpackers and business travellers.

Statistiken – touristische Entwicklung Kolumbiens in Zahlen

Heute wollen wir euch ein paar knallharte Zahlen und Fakten vorstellen, die durchaus interessant sind. Seit den vergangenen Jahren erlebt die touristische Entwicklung, besonders des internationalen Tourismus, einen kleinen Boom. Auch wenn die Zahlen keineswegs mit den Daten von anderen herausragenden Destinationen in Lateinamerika (z.B. Peru, Kuba, … ) vergleichbar sind, entwickelt sich Reiseverkehr nach Kolumbien zu einem immer wichtigeren wirtschaftlichen Standbein.

Hier ein Paar Fakten:

- Insgesamt wurden in Kolumbien 4,45 Millionen internationale Ankünfte im Jahr 2015 verzeichnet. Hierbei entfielen 2,29 Millionen Ankünfte auf Ausländer, die ihren festen Wohnsitz nicht in Kolumbien haben. (Der Rest sind interlationale Ankünfte von Kolumbianern, die nicht in Kolumbien leben, Menschen, die in der Nähe von Landesgrenzen leben und hin und her pendeln (z.B. beruflich), auch Ankünfte von Kreuzfahrtschiffen sind in den 2,29 Millionen nicht inklusive)
- 2014 waren es insgesamt 4,19 Millionen Ankünfte. Davon entfiehlen 1,97 Millionen Ankünfte Ausländer, die ihren festen Wohnsitz nicht in Kolumbien haben. (was einem Wachstum von ca. 16% von 2014 auf 2015 entspricht). 

Die folgenden Zahlen beziehen sich allesamt auf die im Jahre 2015 registrierten 2,29 Millionen Ankünfte von Ausländern, die ihren festen Wohnsitzt nicht in Kolumbien haben:

- Die meisten Ankünfte im Jahr 2015 geordnet nach Ländern: USA (1), Venezuela (2), Brasilien (3), Argentinen  (4) und Ecuador (5). Danach folgen: Mexiko (5), Peru (6), Chile (7), Spanien (8), Panama (9), Deutschland (10), Canada (11), Frankreich (12), Grossbritannien (13), Holland (14), Italien (15), Costa Rica (16), El Salvador (17), Guatemala (18) und die Schweiz (19) 
- Insgesamt kamen aus dem Amerikanischen Kontinent 79,5% (1,8 Millionen von gesamt 2,29 Millionen)
- Aus Europa kamen 18% der Ankünfte (400.000, von den gesamt 2,29 Millionen)
- Der recht kleine Rest sind Ankünfte aus Asien (1,8%), Ozeanien (0,7%), Afrika (0,2%) und dem Orient (0,1%).

Die Zahlen haben wir dem "Informe Tourismo extranjero en Colombia" von ProColombia entnommen. Es gibt keine Zahlen oder offiziellen Auskünfte über die Anzahl von Besuchern, die eine organisierte Rundreise durch Kolumbien gebucht haben. Wir vermuten es ist nur ein recht kleiner Anteil der 2,29 Millionen, der grössere Anteil werden vor allem Backpacker und Geschäftsreisende sein, vermuten wir.

Due to cultural and religious ceremonies of the different indigenous cummunities in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta all touristic activities (for example the Ciudad Perdida Trekking) are suspended from 29th of August until 14th of September 2016.

Wichtiger Hinweis zur touristischen Operation in der Verlorenen Stadt

Aufgrund von kulturellen und religiösen Zeremonien der unterschiedlichen indigenen Gemeinden in der Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta ist im Zeitraum zwischen 29. August und 14. September 2016 kein Trekking zur Verlorenen Stadt "Ciudad Perdida" möglich.
