THE UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE

 

For all customers who would like to see the world from a different perspective or simply take some hilarious photos, we have a fun new attraction in Guatavita:

An unusual house lies in the municipality of Guatavita, it is the so-called "crazy house" or "upside down house". Its construction began in 2015, when Fritz Schall, an Austrian who already completed 22 years living in Colombia, on a visit to his native country met a house that was "upside down", being delighted with the idea and thus undertaking its construction in the municipality cundinamarqués.

The house also has a particular inclination, and has become a great attraction for everyone in this town located an hour and a half from Bogota. As its owner explained in the newspaper El Tiempo, the house has "an inclination of five degrees to the left and five degrees backwards", something that "elevates its optical illusion effect".

"This is explained to people at the entrance because the place generates vertigo and disorients the brain until the body adapts to the illusion," added Schall, who also indicated that the construction was recently inaugurated.

EIN HAUS STEHT KOPF

Für alle Kunden, die die Welt gerne aus einer anderen Perspektive sehen oder schlichtweg ein paar lustige Fotos schießen wollen, haben wir eine verrückte neue Attraktion in Guatavita:

In der Gemeinde Guatavita steht ein ungewöhnliches Haus, das so genannte "verrückte Haus" oder "auf den Kopf gestellte Haus". Der Bau begann 2015, als Fritz Schall, ein Österreicher, der seit 22 Jahren in Kolumbien lebt, bei einem Besuch in seinem Heimatland auf ein Haus stieß, das "auf dem Kopf" stand, von der Idee begeistert war und deshalb den Bau in der Gemeinde Cundinamarca in Angriff nahm.

Das Haus hat auch eine besondere Anziehungskraft und ist zu einer großen Attraktion für jeden in dieser Stadt geworden, die nur anderthalb Stunden von Bogotá entfernt liegt. Wie der Besitzer in der Zeitung El Tiempo erklärte, hat das Haus "eine Neigung von fünf Grad nach links und fünf Grad nach hinten", was "den Effekt der optischen Täuschung noch verstärkt".

"Das wird den Leuten am Eingang gesagt, weil der Ort Schwindelgefühle auslöst und das Gehirn verwirrt, bis sich der Körper an die Illusion gewöhnt hat", fügte Schall hinzu, der auch darauf hinwies, dass das Gebäude kürzlich eingeweiht wurde.

ÖFFNUNGSZEITEN/ZEITWEISE SCHLIESSUNGEN NATIONALPARK TAYRONA UND SAN AGUSTIN

Im Folgenden findet ihr die Öffnungszeiten, bzw zeitweisen Schließungen des Nationalparks Tayrona und der archäologischen Parks in und um San Agustin.

NATIONALPARK TAYRONA

Um der FLora und Fauna des Parks, sowie seinen indigenen Bewohnern wie jedes Jahr Zeit zur Erholung und für Zeremoien zu geben, wird der Nationalpark Tayrona dieses Jahr zu folgenden Terminen nicht für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich sein:

1. - 15. Juni 2022

19. Oktober - 02. November 2022

SAN AGUSTÌN

Die archäologischen Parks werden wie gewohnt jeweils einen Tag pro Woche geschlossen sein. 

In den Monaten Februar - Juni 2022 wie folgt:

- Der archäologische Park San Agustín wird Dienstags geschlossen sein.

- Der achäologische Park Alto de los Idolos und Alto de las Piedras werden Mittwochs geschlossen sein.

OPENING HOURS/TEMPORARY CLOSURES OF NATIONALPARK TAYRONA AND SAN AGUSTIN

 

Please find below the opening hours and temporary closures of the Tayrona National Park and the archaeological parks in and around San Agustin.

TAYRONA NATIONAL PARK

Like every year, in order to give the park's flora and fauna, as well as its indigenous inhabitants, time to recover and perform ceremonies, Tayrona National Park will be closed to the public this year on the following dates:

February 1 - 15, 2022

June 1 - 15, 2022

October 19 - November 02, 2022

SAN AGUSTÌN

The archaeological parks will be closed one day per week, just as usual.

In the months of February - June 2022 it will be as follows:

- San Agustín Archaeological Park will be closed on Tuesdays.

- Alto de los Idolos and Alto de las Piedras will be closed on Wednesdays.

COLOMBIA AND NEPTUNO - CURRENT SITUATION

As usual, we want to keep you and your customers up to date on the current travel situation to/in Colombia. Below you find all the necessary information:

1. Entry requirements:

• valid proof of at least one dose of a Covid 19-vaccination, which has been applied within minimum 14 days before departure
• in case the traveller has only on shot at the moment of departure, a negative PCR test, not older than 72 hours before departure, is required*
• online registration at Check-Mig, through the homepage of the Colombian migration office

*Exception: vaccine Janssen

2. General information:

• The rapid growth of case numbers after NYE seems to have slowed down and there are hardly any severe cases reported.
• Vaccinations: about 78% of the population is completely vaccinated and about 18% already got an additional shot
• A valid vaccination certificate is required to enter most sites and attractions, including e.g. restaurants, museums and national parks.
• Facemasks are compulsory at all times
• Borders are open for international tourism 
• Tourism infrastructure is intact
• National and international flights are operating
