PAKET SAN JOSE DE GUAVIARE 5 T/4 N – ländliche Unterkünfte

Guaviare, gelgen an der Grenze zwischen dem östlichen Flachland und dem Amazonasgebiet, ist eine Region voller Geschichte, Leben, Gelassenheit und Artenvielfalt.
Trotz seiner bewegten Vergangenheit ist es heute ein Ort des Friedens, von unvergleichlicher natürlicher Schönheit. 

Anmerkung: Je nach Ankunfts-, Abfahrtszeit und Klima kann die Reihenfolge der Ausflüge variieren

Tag 1: Ankunft in San Jose de Guaviare und Besuch der „Pozos Naturales“ und „Ciudad de Piedra“ 

Guaviare ist die Heimat verschiedener indigener Gruppen, die bedeutendsten sind die Nukak, Sikuani und Guayabero’s. Außerdem findet man hier beeindruckende Natur und eine große landschaftliche Vielfalt: Urwald, Savannen, Flüsse, Seen und Felsformationen prägen das Landschaftsbild.
In den kommenden Tagen entdecken wir die bedeutendsten kulturellen und landschaftlichen Schätze der Region. Wir schlafen in einem einfachen aber bequemen und sauberen ländlichen Unterkünfte entlang einer Route um San José de Guaviare und unternehmen auf der Strecke verschiedene Ausflüge.
Nach dem Empfang am Flughafen, Transfer in ein typisches Restaurant und Mittagessen (je nach Ankunftszeit). Am Nachmittag beginnt das Abenteuer:
Heute besuchen wir die „Pozos Naturales”, kreisrunde natürliche Wasserbecken, die im Fluss Caño La Esperanza aneinandergereiht und bis zu 8 m. tief sind. Sie eignen sich perfekt für ein erfrischendes Bad. Anschließend machen wir eine kleine, gemütliche Wanderung entlang des Flussufers, im Schatten der Böschung, und betrachten dabei die schönen Felsformationen und die kleinen Wasserfälle, in denen wir uns immer wieder erfrischen können.
Danach geht es weiter zur „Ciudad de Piedra”, die Steinstadt, für eine ca. 1- 2 Stunden gemütliche Wanderung durch die von Felsblöcken geprägte Savanne. Wir laufen durch eine skurrile Landschaft, die den Eindruck verleiht, die Straßen einer alten Stadt aus Steinen zu erkunden. Während der Wanderung können wir die typische Flora und Fauna der Gegend betrachten, so sehen wir z.B. kleine fleischfressende Pflanzen oder das Emblem der Region, die „Flor de Guaviare“.
Kurze Fahrt bis zu unserer heutigen Unterkunft: Ukunay, eine Finca umgeben von Obstbäumen, wo wir herzlich von unseren Gastgebern empfangen werden. Die Unterkunft ist schlicht, aber sauber und gemütlich.

Anmerkung: Der Besuch der „Pozos Naturales“ wird zwischen Februar und März nicht durchgeführt, da während der Trockenzeit das Flussbett komplett austrocknen.

Tag 2: Höhlenmalerei im „Cerro Azul“

Wenn wir früh aufstehen, können wir um die Finca eine kleine Runde drehen, um verschiedene Vögel zu beobachten: Tukane, Spechte, Papageien, unter anderem Sind hier zu Hause. Anschließend geht es weiter per 4x4 bis zur Finca El Chontaduro. Die wichtigste Produktion der Region war über 30 Jahre lang der Coca-Anbau und die Weiterverarbeitung zur Coca-paste, der Grundlage für Kokain. Auf dieser Finca erzählt uns Edison alles über seine persönliche Geschichte in diesem komplexen Gewerbe und zeigt uns, wie die Pflanzen angebaut und die Blätter dann in spärlichen Baracken mit verschiedenen chemischen Substanzen, Säuren und Zement zur Paste weiterverarbeitet wurden. Nach dieser interessanten Tour geniessen wir ein wohlverdientes, leckeres und typisches Frühstück der Region.
Weite geht’s nun zum nächsten Highlight: wir besuchen eine der atemberaubendsten Orte für Höhlenmalerei. Im Cerro Azul befinden sich über 150 m  lange Wandmalereien, die mehr als 10.000 Jahre alt sind. Außerdem können wir durch eine ca. 210 m lange Höhle laufen. 
Zum Abschluss der Tour genießen wir einen herrlichen Ausblick vom Cerro Azul aus auf den majestätischen Dschungel. Wir legen insgesamt ca. 4 km zu Fuß zurück.
Anschließend Mittagessen in der Finca El Jardin. Nachdem wir etwas geruht haben, fahren wir weiter zu unserer heutigen Unterkunft: Cabañas de Piedras Altas.
In dieser Unterkunft am Waldrand können wir Affen, halb zahme Aras, und Sträuße sehen, im Swimming Pool baden, oder eine Runde Billard spielen. Abendessen und Übernachtung.

Tag 3: Besuch des Orion Tors und den Rio de Colores

Heute besuchen wir die natürliche Savanne mit verschiedenen Felsformationen, einige scheinen der Schwerkraft zu trotzen. Wir laufen  an Felswänden, die von Dschungelpflanzen überwuchtert sind, entlang und an einigen kleinen Höhlen vorbei. Wir erreichen das imposante Orion-Tor, eine Felsformation, die das Wahrzeichen des Departements Guaviare darstellt.
Die Wanderung führt uns anschließend weiter bis zum “Río de Colores”, der Farbenfluss, in dem die berühmte Alge „Macarenia“ wächst, die das Flussbett rot erscheinen lässt, und ebenfalls im Nationalpark La Macarena anzutreffen ist. Um dieses sensible Ökosystem zu schützen ist hier baden nicht erlaubt. Daher wandern wir entlang des Flusses bis zur Finca Tranquilandia, wo wir uns in natürlichen Pools mit kristallklarem Wasser und unter Wasserfällen erfrischen können.
Weiterfahrt und Mittagessen in einem Restaurant mit lokalen Köstlichkeiten. Nachmittags geht es zum Altarm „Laguna Negra“. Hier steigen wir in ein Kanu ein und erkunden die Gewässer der Lagune und ihrer Ausläufer. An einer Insel machen wir Halt und schwimmen eine runde in den schwarzroten Gewässern. Während der Kanufahrt beobachten wir verschiedene Vogelarten und Affen.
Rückfahrt mit dem Kanu und 4x4 Fahrt zurück nach San José de Guaviare. Übernachtung in einem komfortablen Stadthotel.
Abendessen in einem indigenen Reservat. Hier erhalten wir einen Einblick in die Kultur der Tukanos, vermittlet durch Tänze und typisches Essen: Casabe und geräucherter Fisch.

Tag 4: Lagune Damas del Nare

Drei Stunden mit dem 4×4-Fahrzeug vom Zentrum von San José del Guaviare entfernt und mitten in den Ausläufern des Amazonasgebiets gelegen, ist diese Lagune die ständige Heimat von rosa Delfinen, Vögeln und Fischen.
Die Lagune Damas del Nare ist ein ruhiger Ort und ein wunderschöner Wasserspiegel, der vor vielen Jahren durch die Änderung des Flusslaufs des Guaviare entstanden ist. Hier können wir Brüllaffen sehen und hören, Fischadler bei der Jagd beobachten und mit der Delfinfamilie schwimmen, die in der Lagune lebt.
Nach dem Mittagessen auf einer schönen Finca nahe der Lagune, geht es am Nachmittag zurück nach San Jose de Guaviare. Abendessen und eine weitere Übernachtung im Hotel im Ort.

Anmerkung: Während der Regenzeit erreichen wir die Lagune in kleinen Booten über den Guaviare-Fluss.

Tag 5: Rückflug

Der Morgen steht zur freien Verfügung. Fahrt zum Flughafen für den Rückflug.

TOUR SAN JOSE DE GUAVIARE 5D/4N - rural accommodation

Guaviare, located on the border between the eastern plains and the Amazon, is a region full of history, life, serenity and biodiversity.

Despite its troubled past, today it is a place of peace and of incomparable natural beauty.

Note: Depending on arrival, departure time and climate, the order of excursions may vary

Day 1: Arrival in San Jose de Guaviare and visit of the "Pozos Naturales" and "Ciudad de Piedra".

Guaviare is home to several indigenous groups, the most important being the Nukak, Sikuani and Guayabero's. In addition, you find impressive nature and a great variety of landscapes: jungle, savannahs, rivers, lakes and rock formations characterize the landscape. 

In the coming days we will discover the most important cultural and scenic treasures of the region. We will sleep in simple but comfortable and clean rural accommodations along a route around San José de Guaviare and make several excursions along the way.

After the reception at the airport, transfer to a typical restaurant and lunch (depending on the arrival time). In the afternoon the adventure begins:

Today we will visit the "Pozos Naturales", circular natural pools of water lined up in the Caño La Esperanza River and up to 8 m. deep. They are perfect for a refreshing swim. Afterwards, we will take a short, leisurely walk along the riverbank, in the shade of the embankment, contemplating the beautiful rock formations and the small waterfalls, in which we can always refresh ourselves.

Afterwards we continue to the "Ciudad de Piedra", the stone town, for an approx. 1- 2 hour leisurely hike through the savannah characterized by boulders. We walk through a whimsical landscape that gives the impression of exploring the streets of an ancient city made of stones. During the hike we can observe the typical flora and fauna of the area, for example we can see small carnivorous plants or the emblem of the region, the "Flor de Guaviare".

Short drive to our accommodation today: Ukunay, a finca surrounded by fruit trees, where we are warmly welcomed by our hosts. The accommodation is simple, but clean and cozy.

Note: The visit to the "Pozos Naturales" is not done between February and March, because during the dry season the riverbed dries up completely. 

Day 2: Cave paintings in "Cerro Azul"

Early birds can spot different birds on the grounds of the finca - toucans, woodpeckers, parrots, among others - before we continue by 4x4 to Finca El Chontaduro. For more than 30 years, the most important production of the region was the cultivation of coca and its processing into coca paste, the base for cocaine. At this finca, Edison tells us all about his personal history in this complex trade and shows us how the plants were grown and the leaves then processed into the paste in sparse barracks using various chemical substances, acids and cement. After this interesting tour we enjoy a well-deserved, delicious and typical breakfast of the region.
Moving on to the next highlight, we visit one of the most breathtaking places of cave paintings. In Cerro Azul there are paintings more than 150 meters long and more than 10.000 years old. We can also walk through a cave that is about 210 m long.  
At the end of the tour we enjoy a magnificent view of the majestic jungle from Cerro Azul. We cover a total of about 4 km on foot.
Afterwards we have lunch at Finca El Jardin. After a short rest, we continue to our accommodation for today: Cabañas de Piedras Altas.
In this lodging on the edge of the forest we can see monkeys, semi-tame macaws, and bouquets, swim in the swimming pool, or play a game of billiards. Dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 3: Visit of the Orion Gate and Rio de Colores

Today we visit the natural savannah with distinct rock formations, some seeming to defy gravity. We walk along rock walls overgrown with jungle plants and past some small caves. We reach the imposing Orion Gate, a rock formation that is the emblem of the department of Guaviare. 
The hike then continues to the "Río de Colores", the River of Colors, where the famous algae "Macarenia" grows, which makes the riverbed appear red, and is also found in La Macarena National Park. In order to protect this sensitive ecosystem, bathing is not allowed here. Therefore, we hike along the river until we reach Finca Tranquilandia, where we can refresh ourselves in natural pools with crystal clear water and waterfalls.
We leave the finca and drive to a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon we go to the oxbow lake "Laguna Negra". Here we board a canoe and explore the waters of the lagoon and its foothills. We stop at an island and swim in the black and red waters. During the canoe ride we observe different species of birds and monkeys. 
Return by canoe and 4x4 drive back to San José de Guaviare. Overnight stay in a comfortable city hotel.
Dinner in an indigenous reserve, wher we get an insight into the culture of the Toucanos, mediated by dances and typical food: casabe and smoked fish.

Day 4: Damas del Nare Lagoon

Three hours by 4×4 vehicle from the center of San José del Guaviare and located in the middle of the Amazon foothills, this lagoon is the permanent home of pink dolphins, birds and fish.

The Damas del Nare lagoon is a quiet place and a beautiful lake that was formed many years ago by the change in the course of the Guaviare River. Here we can see and hear howler monkeys, watch ospreys hunting and swim with the dolphin family that lives in the lagoon.

After lunch at a beautiful finca near the lagoon, we return to San Jose de Guaviare in the afternoon. Dinner in San Guaviare and overnight stay at the hotel in town. 

Note: During the rainy season we reach the lagoon in small boats via the Guaviare River.

Day 5: Return flight

The morning is at leisure. Transfer out to the airport for the onward journey.
