COLOMBIA, NEPTUNO AND COVID 19, MAY 2020

Although our entire team is currently working from their own homes rather than from the office, we want to keep you up to date on the current situation in Colombia:

• In general:
• Currently 10,495 COVID-19 cases have been identified in Colombia, 445 of them fatal (as of 10^th May 2020).
• The Colombian government extended the general curfew, initially imposed nationwide end of March, once again until May 25th. 
• Supermarkets, pharmacies and hospitals are operating
• Since April 27th the construction and manufacturing sector resumed work under strict protocols (e.g. limited number of workers per area, desinfection facilites, etc).
• Other industries like the manufacturing of furniture, technology and automotive are supposed to resume operation as well.
• Educational institutions stay closed until end of May (current status).
• Since April 27th it is allowed to do sports outside for max 1 h, in the early morning, within a radius of 1 km of your home.

• Tourism:
• Until the end of May (current status) international and national air traffic is completely suspended.Transportation of food and medicines as well as humanitarian reasons are the only exceptions.
• Various hotels are closed until further notice.
• All parties in the tourism value chain (hotels, local service providers, airlines, and ourselves) are asking that customers are advised to rebook rather than cancel!

• Neptuno:
• Our office will be closed until May 25th, but during that time you can reach us at our home office on our mobile phone numbers, by email or on our emergency number (+57)3202240871.
• We actively use this imposed break and are working hard on the following points:
• Internal trainings
• Development of new products
• Optimization of internal processes
• Update of our homepage
• Creation of the 2021 price catalogue
• Trainings for our partner travel agencies worldwide
• Also, as you can see above, we keep inventing new ways to maintain ourselves entertained during the isolation (e.g. Stephan takes good care of the plants at the office, Melina practices yoga with her grandparents, Jaqueline and her husband work and simultaneously accompany their kids during their online classes, and Lena works from the pool every now and then)

We sincerely hope that you, just like us, will take a positive approach to the coming months and find your way to successfully master the current challenge!

From Neptuno's point of view, we are sure that together we will emerge from the CoVid19 situation strengthened and - as soon as travelling is possible again and the travel mood is rekindled - we will provide your customers with unique experiences in this country as usual.

Of course we are also very curious if and/or which changes the tourism industry will experience after this phase - will we return to the usual "normality"? Have the customers developed a different awareness of the environment and globalisation?
