- In general:
- Currently 2,852 COVID19 cases have been identified in Colombia, 112 of them fatal.
- The Colombian government has extended the general curfew, which was initially imposed nationwide until April 13th, until April 26th. Only supermarkets, pharmacies and hospitals are open, and thus, apart from a few other exceptions, are the only reason to leave the house.
- Tourism:
- Until the end of May (current status) international air traffic is completely suspended, i.e. there are no incoming or outgoing flights.
- Until 26 April (current status) national air traffic is completely suspended.
- Various hotels are closed until further notice.
- All parties in the tourism value chain (hotels, local service providers, airlines, and ourselves) are asking that customers are advised to rebook rather than cancel!
- Neptuno:
- We managed to get all our guests out of the country and back to their home countries safely.
- Our office will be closed until April 26th, but during that time you can reach us at our home office on our mobile phone numbers, by email or on our emergency number.
- We actively use this imposed break and are working hard on the following points:
- Internal trainings
- Development of new products
- Optimization of internal processes
- Update of our homepage
- Creation of the 2021 price catalogue
- Trainings for our partner travel agencies worldwide
- Our team members also discover their creative side, and proudly share the outcomes with the whole team: we paint, bake, do handicrafts, build, film, etc... (find a few impressions above)
We
sincerely hope that you, just like us, will take a positive approach to the
coming months and find your way to successfully master the current challenge!
From
Neptuno's point of view, we are sure that together we will emerge from the
CoVid19 situation strengthened and - as soon as travelling is possible again
and the travel mood is rekindled - we will provide your customers with unique
experiences in this country as usual.
Of course
we are also very curious if and/or which changes the tourism industry will experience
after this phase - will we return to the usual "normality"? Have the
customers developed a different awareness of the environment and globalisation?
We are
very excited and curious to see what will happen in the near future!
We will
keep you posted about the further developments in Colombia. If you have further
questions, please feel free to contact your local travel agent.
Stay
healthy and well entertained at home!
