One of them the famous Carnaval de Barranquilla, which takes place this month, between February 18 to 21. It is certainly one of the most spectacular carnivals in South America, with colorful parades that represent the mestizo population and the fusion of cultures and ethnicities. It has been declared an UNESCO heritage, and mezmerizes with its amazing musical mix of rhythms like Cumbia, Porros, Fandango and Mapalé.
Barranquilla is located at the Caribbean Coast of Colombia, between Cartagena and Santa Marta, at the outfall of the Magdalena River.
