NEPTUNO ON TOUR - TRAVELLING THROUGH COLOMBIA IS BIO-SECURE!

For about 2 weeks, we, i.e. Stephan and Torsten, visited different corners of Colombia to provide you with first-hand information about how travelling through the country during times of the pandemia is like.

Maybe you followed our road-trip through our social media and our blog, however, we would like to tell you a bit about our experiences, findings and impressions in the following.

First things first:
Travelling through Colombia is completely safe and worry-free!
At no point of our journey - may that be on the road, in hotels, in restaurants or during outdoor activities - did we feel uncomfortable or even at risk. In every situation the appropriate infection control measures and social distancing are complied with.

After a long time, we finally get to travel through Colombia - full of excitement and curiosity, we started our road trip across Colombia at the beginning of November (see the map below).
The first part of our trip took us through spectacular Andes landscapes:
from Bogotá, past the lush green Zipacón, the colonial village of Honda on the banks of the Magdalena River, into the surroundings and the center of the metropolis of Medellín, all the way to the magical coffee region
From the very first day we felt that the trip was absolutely pleasant and (bio-)safe, as in every hotel, during every meal and every activity the safety measures were strictly followed, yet at the same time we did not feel restricted or disturbed in any way!
From the coffee region we continued our trip, passing Cajamarca, Ibague and Barrancabermeja, all the way up to the coast, to Santa Marta. We completed this section in only 2 days, which meant 2 long drives of about 10 hours each. We usually do not put our customers through this, instead we send them by plane to the coast (either from Bogotá, Medellin, or directly from the coffee region).
However, since we were both on a mission, we didn't want to miss anything, so we gladly accepted the challenge and mastered it with flying colors.

The second part of the trip, the Caribbean coast, was no less spectacular! We enjoyed the wonderful outdoor experiences that the north of Colombia has to offer: Rivers, rainforests, palm-fringed beaches and the incredibly diverse flora and fauna. From Tayrona Nationalpark we continued via Barranquilla to Cartagena. Apart from the center of the Pearl of the Caribbean, we visited the dream beaches of the Baru Peninsula and the Rosario Islands.

On the coast, as well as before in the interior of the country, the biosecurity measures were met at all times, allowing us to enjoy a completely carefree and relaxed time!
As we all know, everything comes to an end, and so our road trip finally ended in this Caribbean paradise.
We both returned to Bogotá with valuable impressions and experiences, and we can affirm with complete certainty that traveling through Colombia is currently absolutely easy and secure!
