COLOMBIA IS SLOWLY GOING BACK TO "NEW" NORMAL

The wait is over! After about 6 months of curfew, we are now slowly starting to resume life as usual in Colombia...and by doing so, also the prospect of receiving travellers here soon, is gradually taking shape!

Since Tuesday, September 01st, the (partial) curfew which has been imposed in the country since March was lifted nationwide for the time being!

Now that this measure has been lifted, the country is returning to its "new normality", i.e. stores, restaurants, public facilities and transportation, hotels as well as various national air connections are operating again.

As in all other countries, these re-openings are of course subject to strict biosecurity guidelines, such as the wearing of face masks, minimum distance, limited number of visitors/participants, limited occupancy of public transportation, etc.

Here are the currently most important key points for relaunching tourist activities in Colombia:

 Hotels:
After implementing all necessary measures regarding biosecurity protocols and having those checked by the responsible authorities, various hotels are now receiving guests againAlso, a couple of hotels offer special cancelation policies for the rest of the year 2020 and the beginning of or even throughout the entire year 2021
(find here a few special offers).

National Air Traffic:
On the following routes, flights will be available again from September 01st (current status):

Bogotá - Medellín – Bogotá

Bogotá - Cali - Bogotá

Bogotá - Cartagena - Bogotá

Bogotá - Barranquilla - Bogotá

Bogotá - Pereira - Bogotá

Bogotá - Santa Marta - Bogotá (as of September 07th)

Bogotá - Bucaramanga - Bogotá

Bogotá - Cúcuta - Bogotá

Bogotá - Montería - Bogotá

Bogotá - San Andrés - Bogotá

Bogotá - Medellín - Bogotá

Bogotá - Villavicencio – Bogotá

Bogotá - Pasto - Bogotá

Bogotá - Leticia - Bogotá

Medellín - Barranquilla - Medellín

Medellín - Cali - Medellín

Medellín - San Andrés - Medellín

• International Air Traffic:
Also the international flights are officially resumed as of September 01st, however the responsible authorities are currently still working on finishing the necessary airport protocols to guarantee that international connections will be completely bio-secure. As soon as these protocols will be defined and implemented, international air traffic will be launched first to the following countries:

United States of America

Panama

Ecuador

Chile

Peru

The re-opening of the routes to/from Europe currently still strongly depends on the respective local regulations. Depending on those national and international immigration and emigration regulations, flights will be resumed as soon as possible (according to the current status, probably in November).

We are very happy about this progress and hope that it kindles the  general joy of travelling and that we will welcome your customers here in Colombia again very soon!

As usual, we will keep you up to date about the ongoing developments in the country and you are welcome to contact your local travel agent for more information any time.
