GET INVOLVED - SAVING THE AMAZON

Tourism is picking up again and we can finally do what we had planned to do just before the pandemic started: reduce the carbon footprint of our customers and ourselves, contributing to the fight against the climate crisis. How? By supporting the local environmental project Saving the Amazon!

Saving the Amazon is not dedicated to reforestation in the Colombian Amazon, but also to involving the indigenous communities in this process, which  generates income for the communities and promotes the preservation of their natural habitat.

We would like to continue to contribute to the project by donating trees and hope to involve you and your customers in the process.
Each donated tree is labeled with the name of the donor (= your customers or your company name), and the donor will receive a tree certificate as well as a link to track the current status of the donated tree. Over a period of 3 years, Saving the Amazon will also send a photo of the tree every 6 months.

Note: Trips to the communities are already planned and will hopefully be possible soon for interested customers/donors.

Here some current key data about the project:
- one tree compensates 1.08 tons of CO2 over a period of 45 years (professional estimate)
- current price/tree: 8 USD
- 26 indigenous communities and thus about 300 families benefit from the project
- 220,000 trees have already been planted

How can we picture a possible participation on your part:
- Donation on your part of a defined number of trees per booking or according to the amount of the booking.
- Donation on your part of a defined number of trees per month or per any other time interval defined by you.
- Donation by the final customer of an individual number of trees, communicated to us through you
- We are of course open for further ideas for your contribution.
