VIA COCINA - SOCIAL COOKING PROJECT IN MEDELLIN

The Via Cocina social cooking project in Medellin is a unique experience where visitors come into direct contact with Medellin residents during an exciting cooking lesson, and are rewarded with a delicious lunch to boot.

Due to limited capacity of the project leader and head chef, this activity is now only available on weekends!

In the following, more details about the project:

Chef Brian Johnston created the NGO Via Cocina, a project where low-income Colombians receive cooking lessons. Brian teaches participants to prepare healthy food inspired by local produce and sell it at affordable prices. The Canadian chef started the project several years ago, and all donations generated from your clients' visits are invested in the community project, covering costs for training, supplies and equipment. In the cooking class, clients learn all about local ingredients and their use in delicious local dishes. The cooking class takes place together with people from the neighborhood, giving clients a unique culinary and cultural experience.

For more questions about this experience, reach out to your local travel agent.
