TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF TAYRONA IN OCTOBER

We would like to remind you that Colombia's Tayrona National Park will be temporarily closed since Thursday, October 19th, to November 02nd, prohibiting visitors from entering and providing ecotourism services.

The time-out is a conservation strategy agreed upon with the indigenous communities Kogui, Wiwa, Arhuaco and Kankuamo, living in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, that aims to provide a respite for biodiversity in the area to allow the regeneration of the natural processes of the beaches, ecosystems and species that live there, and to allow the indigenous people to perform their ceremonies of purification, healing and ecological and spiritual conservation.

During the 15 days that Tayrona will be closed to the public, Parques Nacionales Naturales invites everyone who has visited the park before to participate in this time of tranquility of the protected area with their photos through their social networks using the hashtag #RespiraTayrona (breathe Tayrona), in recognition of the care of this Colombian natural and cultural heritage.
