A few months ago the big part of our incoming
team visited the highest costal mountain range in the world, the Sierra Nevada
de Santa Marta. We enjoyed the beautiful nature and learned, while we lived
with an Aruhuaco family next to the cultural center Nabusimake, a lot about
their cosmovision of these indigenous people.
Right now we designed for our clients some
packages to visit Nabusimake and the surroundings. This is one of our new
packages:
2 days/1 night – from/to Valledupar or Santa
Marta – daily frequency with a minimum of 1 participant – permanent English
speaking guide:
1. DAY: AIRPORT VALLEDUPAR / SANTA
MARTA – NABUSIMAKE
In the morning we arrive at the airport in
Valledupar (daily non-stop flights departing from Bogotá) and drive to Pueblo
Bello, a small village located in the northern part of Sierra Nevada de Santa
Marta. From this place you can only drive further on with a 4x4 jeep; the
upcoming distance of 25 km can be covered easily within two hours on a small
earth road, this is always an exciting adventure. We arrive during midday in a
simple maloka (the indigenous‘ hut). In
the afternoon we will do our first small hike to get to know the area. Then 1
night under very simple but authentic conditions either together with the
Arhuaco indigenous or in one of the simple hostels.
2. DAY: NABUSIMAKE – VALLEDUPAR / SANTA MARTA
After breakfast we start with a marvelous 4
hour hike to „Cascada de Nabusimake“ passing idyllically located malokas and
small villages. Back in the maloka we will once again have lunch with the
Arhuacos. Then we will drive back to Pueblo Bello and in the late afternoon
from there to Valledupar or Santa Marta.
