Lagoon of Guatavita temporarily closed until 12th of February 2016

This year's “El Nino” weather phenomenon is causing an unusual strong drought in Colombia. Other Southamerican Countries are fighting against extraordinary strong rainfall and floods. Colombia’s government announced that water restrictions will be implemented across several cities due to the consequences of “El Niño”.



Because of the ongoing drought the touristic site “Lagoon of Guatavita” that is located about 50 km north of Bogota will be completely closed until 12th of February 2016.
