Right in the middle of the Colombian coffee region there is the beautiful town of Salento, around 24 km away from Armenía, the capital of the Department Quindío. Surrounded by fascinating green hills, by an astonishing landscape, Salento is a unique place to stay. Travelers love Salento because of the relaxed atmosphere and the great nature, which goes along all over the place.

Salento was founded in 1850 and is one of the oldest towns of the Department Qunidío. Most of the more than 7,000 people of the town are related to the coffee business. Therefore there are many coffee farms around Salento. The town has a cozy market place and one main shopping street, where you can take a look into the plenty of Artesanía-shops

In Salento you can also play tejo or visit a coffee roasting factury.
