Reaching a higher level - Bogotás airport extension



Colombians economy is growing. The extension of Bogotás biggest and most important airport Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado is symbol of this positve development. Since 2007 the construction is making progess. Finally the new international terminal of El Dorado opened on October the 19th this year. Another terminal for national flight is still under construction and will be done in 2014.

The extension of the airport meets the increasing number of tourists and economy visitations in Colombia. In 2000 aproximately 10,7 million air passengers were travelling across El Dorado. In 2011 already 21,6 million air passengers were using the airport and in 2018 around 34 million people will travel via El Dorado according to the colombian government. The rising number of visiters shows the positive expectations of the colombian governemt for the future. The success of the colombian economy will benefit the local people as well.

  • Domestic flights Avianca: Terminal Puente Aéreo (Distance from El Dorado Airport: 5-10 Min. by car or shuttlebus)

Distance from/to Hotels in the North or Centre of Bogotá (La Candelaria): 45 Min. Aprox. (by car or bus in privat transfer)
