Today we want to present another
very good museum in the city center of Bogota – the Botero Museum – not just
for art lovers. Fernando Botero was born in Medellin in the year 1932 and is
famous for creating oversized depictions of people, animals and all kind of
elements of the natural world.
The „Museo Botero“ allows its visitors to admire
one of the most important art collections in Latin America. After the artist
Fernando Botero donated more than 200 various art pieces to the Bank of the
Republic in 2000, paintings of Picasso, Monet and Chagall are exposed today.
But the majority of the museum is used to display Boteros works of art, which
could easily be detected because of the typical exaggerated proportions he
sticked to.
